'My son Marcus started guitar lessons with Pete when he was 11. Marcus was already equipped with some basic guitar playing skills, but over the course of 3-4 years Pete took Marcus’ playing to the next level. My son is now a confident player and is starting to play solo performances in public. Pete’s enthusiasm, patience and technical skills have been great for Marcus’ development. I happily recommend Pete to any budding young player!'

BIO
Pete began playing guitar at the early age of 3 years old in 1987. Influenced by his parents both being professional musicians, Pete learned the acoustic stylings of artists such as Heart, King Crimson and Bob Dylan. His family formed a band in 1996 called 'Seraphina' and recorded 2 albums
By the age of 15 Pete had become influenced by artists such as Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Jimi Hendrix and Santana and was bought his first electric guitar. Feeling need to grow from his early folk roots, Pete formed his first rock band 'Pure Greed' playing a mix of classic rock and blues.
On finishing school Pete became a professional guitarist in a Ska Madness tribute band called ‘Ultimate Madness at the age of 17. The group had a busy schedule playing up to 7 nights a week all over England.
After 4 years of intense touring and a brief 6 month cover band residency in Wales, Pete was head-hunted during a showcase in Yorkshire by the Funk / Soul touring band 'Beat Street International' in 2005 who were impressed with his energy.
Pete was called upon to play a completely new style of music and became influenced by artists such as Prince, Chic and Parliament / Funkadelic. Now as well as England, Pete began regularly touring overseas including Germany and Israel.
During his time playing in many top resident and touring bands in the 2000's, Pete had now trained his voice and began a solo career in Florida on cruise ships in 2009.
In 2010 Pete moved to Australia performing his solo show with self-written backing tracks. During this period, he also joined the Hip hop / Rock band 'Easy Tigers' and enjoyed an exciting tour of Western Australia also supporting Daryl Braithwaite on Broome. On returning from the tour, Pete was asked to join the soul band 'DD Soul' comprised of final year WAAPA students and began making regular appearances at The 'Ellington Jazz Club'. The group was also featured on the local TV program 'Turn it up!'
In 2014 Pete returned to England to write, record and produce an epic Medieval Orchestral Rock album with his family band called 'The Fludes – Ancient Tales.’ The album acquired a worldwide publishing deal from legendary producer ‘Mark S. Berry in Canada receiving global acclaim. From this album Pete gained support from the music manufacturing companies ‘Rotosound’ and ‘Spear’ guitars.
After returning to Australia in 2015, Pete began work as a music facilitator and coordinator at ‘Catch Music' where he worked with the community connecting people through music. Using these new skills, Pete visited North Vietnam and developed a music program at a centre for children with disability in Ba Vi.

Since then, Pete has been enjoying teaching full time all over Perth and performing, writing and recording in his acoustic guitar and flute duo 'Demon & The Angel' (see link in menu).

POLICIES
-
Invoices/Payment - Your payment entitles you to a set amount of guitar/vocal/bass lessons. Lessons are 30, 45 or 60 minutes long, and invoiced in blocks of X5. You will receive invoices one week before the start of Term, and again on Week 4 of Term. Invoices must be paid in full-modifications or part payments by students are not permitted.
-
Illness - If the student is unwell or has tested positive for COVID, please notify me asap to cancel the lesson. If other family or household members have tested positive for COVID please also notify me ASAP to cancel the lesson. I cannot teach at houses where COVID is present or a student is unwell.
-
Cancellations – All cancellations must be communicated at least 24 hours in advance in order to receive a make-up lesson. (This 24-hour time allowance provides me with enough time to fill the time gap with another student). If a lesson is cancelled under 24 hours before the scheduled time, I cannot offer a make-up lesson and the lesson is forfeited. (This includes the unfortunate circumstance where a student has suddenly fallen sick in under 24-hours before the booked lesson).
-
Absences - If you know in advance that you will be unable to attend a lesson, you must inform me ASAP and be available at a later date during the term to have a make-up lesson. (Lessons cannot be “knocked” off the current or next invoice, and make-up lessons will not be carried over to the next term).
-
Make-Up Lessons - Will be arranged for students who provide a minimum 24-hours notice before cancelling a lesson.A maximum of 2 make-up options will be offered, if the student is unable to attend either option, I must be contactedfor an alternative make up lesson date before the end of term. Booked make-up lessons cannot be cancelled or re-scheduled, and if missed, will be forfeited. In the case of an emergency, sickness or COVID, the teacher may cancel lessons at short notice. On these occasions, a makeup lesson will be arranged at earliest convenience.
-
Practice – Students are expected to maintain a regular lesson and practice routine in order to progress. A lack of progress due to no effort with practicing, makes the lessons become very redundant and pointless for both student and teacher. If a student is unable to attend regular lessons or maintain a practice routine due to other activities and lack of time, please consider their suitability for music lessons and the practicality of them learning to play an instrument.
Further Notes
-
Classes are held during school terms; lessons falling on public holidays will not commence. Additionally, there will be optional Christmas holiday lessons during the summer holiday break.
-
Parents must remain on the property during lessons.
-
I have a strict no drug or alcohol environment policy with clients. If I feel the student, parents or care givers are inebriated on arrival, the lesson will be cancelled.
-
Please provide an email address that is checked regularly so communication can be maintained and invoices are processed without delay.
-
By paying this invoice, you have understood and accepted these terms and conditions.
